Assistant Manager Ian Campbell

Current Team
Lossiemouth FC

Ian is the assistant coach for Lossiemouth FC. Ian has been involved with football since he was 8 years old. In his youth he played for his primary and high schools as well as The North of Scotland Select and Boy's Club. At age 15-16 Ian trained with Elgin City & Lossiemouth FC being a trialist for Elgin City on two occasions. Ian's first break was signing for Lossiemouth FC first team and the Under-21s for two seasons. Ian played for: Lossiemouth UTD, Keith U20s, Fochabers U20s, Forres Thistle, Burghead Thistle and Bishopmill UTD (player assistant manager). A bad injury to his knees led to Ian hanging up his boots for coaching/managing.
Ian began by coaching Hythehill Primary School and Lossiemouth High School teams. Other highlights were Soccer Sixes, Elgin Boys Club and taking the Lossiemouth High School squad to the Amsterdam Tournament. Ian then took up a coaching role with Elgin City youths for six years but left due to the lack of "player pathways" for the local youth. In 2016 Ian joined Lossiemouth FC youth development and the U20s. In season 1 Ian coached the U20s and then coached the U20s and managed Forres Thistle in season 2. Recently, Ian has helped develop the new youth setup, i.e., U13s, U15s, U17s and the U20s, as well as assist the senior team for two seasons on the proviso that the youth gets a chance to progress. As Ian points out: The "...first team now consists of 80% of our own grass roots youths"
