Forres Mechanics trounced
Lossiemouth in the Moray derby match to close the gap on Nairn County as
the race to become the top team in the North FA region hots up.
The visitors took the lead after 22 minutes when a long kick up the field from Forres keeper, Stuart Knight, flew over the top leaving Ryan GREEN to run on and slot the ball home. The Can Cans doubled their lead just three minutes later with Ryan GREEN again with the finish, following great one touch football from Mechanics involving Kevin Duguid and Green with the former playing final ball into the big striker who only had to tap ball into net. With Forres cutting Lossie apart in the middle of the park it only took Forres another three minutes to make it 3-0. Neil WHYTE applying the finish this time with a curled effort from 12 yards. Those three goals in a six minute spell knocked the stuffing out of Lossiemouth who included Gary Tweedie in their team lines, something that was sure to have raised a wry smile among both sets of supporters given the player's last appearance in the SHFL. Kevin DUGUID made it four just a few minutes into the second half when he picked the ball up on left hand side of box and slotted home to make it 4-0 to ensure there was going to be no fightback. Forres hit 5 after 59 minutes when Fraser Bremner cut in down the right and played the ball back to the six yard box where Kevin Duguid fired the ball goalwards via Steve DIXON and the post.
